Certified Public Accountant
Konnor Amis, CPA
About me:
Konnor’s family moved to the Anniston/Oxford area in 2007 when he was fourteen years old after his father (Mack) became the pastor of Parker Memorial Baptist Church. He was a three-sport athlete and graduate of White Plains where he also met his high school sweetheart and now wife, Lauren. His passion for sports ultimately led him to work with the football team at Jacksonville State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He was fortunate enough to have several accounting internships with local businesses and work as a floating teller with NobleBank during the summers while attending Jax State. Eventually Konnor made his way to Tuscaloosa where he spent a year working on his Master of Accountancy degree before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, where he would begin his career in public accounting working with a local firm in the Audit department. During his time in Nashville, Konnor became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and he and Lauren had their first child, Brooks, in May of 2021. In an effort to live closer to family, Konnor and Lauren relocated to Trussville, Alabama, in the summer of 2021. It was at this time that Konnor began working out of the Birmingham office at the large, regional accounting firm Warren Averett as a specialist in business valuations and forensic accounting. In the fall of 2023, Konnor and Lauren moved back to the Cheaha Valley area and now live on a family farm in Munford with their four-year-old son, Brooks, and seven month old daughter, Caroline. Konnor joined Michael D. Askew, CPA & Associates in February 2025 where he specializes in tax, accounting services, and business valuations. “My family and I couldn’t be happier to be back “home” in the Calhoun/Talladega County area. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to live in bigger metropolitan and suburban areas for several years but being back here and working in downtown Anniston directly across the road from the church I grew up in and where my son now attends daycare, it’s really a breath of fresh air… I was so excited and grateful when Mike (Askew) invited me to join his firm. Mike has been a stalwart in the community for decades and one of the first calls a lot of folks make when they’re in need of accounting/tax expertise. I’ve already learned so much in my short time with Mike’s firm and look forward to playing a part in continuing his legacy and the impact he’s had in our community for so many years. One of my goals in working with Mike’s firm is to reiterate to our current clients, prospective clients, and the entire community the importance of quality client-service. We want to be thought of as the “go-to” local accounting firm much like the reputation a lot of our smaller community banks, law firms, and insurance agencies have. If I had to pick one word to focus on and promote as something we want to be known for that differentiates us from other accounting firms in the area, it would be “responsiveness”. Even if we’re not able to answer your question or meet with you right away due to the cyclical nature of public accounting when it comes to workload, we at least want to let you know that we’ve received your message and will respond to you ASAP. I would consider my effort to respond in a timely manner as a core value for myself in my professional career.” – Konnor Amis, CPA About Konnor: -Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) -Nine years of public accounting experience -Fellowship of Christian Athletes Character Coach for Munford High School baseball team -Munford Recreation Department board member (Financial Secretary, Soccer and Basketball Commissioner)
